Use or retire the legacy Market feature

Market is a discontinued coapp feature. It can remain available in communities where it was already enabled, but it is not available for new activation. If an administrator turns it off, it is permanently removed from that community and cannot be reactivated.

Use Market when it is already enabled​

When your community has Market enabled, members can select Market in the community navigation to browse listings. The Market entry and related controls are not shown when the feature is off.

To publish a listing, select the market-item action from the available create controls, then provide:

  1. a Title and Description;
  2. a Category; and
  3. optional tags, contact information, and an image.

Select Create to publish it. Listings are active for four weeks, then close automatically. The listing author can edit, close, reopen, or delete their listing while the feature remains enabled.

Permanently disable Market​

Only an administrator can remove the feature:

  1. Select Manage.
  2. Select Settings, then Features.
  3. Turn off Market.
  4. Read the confirmation that the action is permanent, then select Confirm.

After you confirm, the Market navigation and its member-facing routes are no longer available. Consider giving members notice and saving information they still need before disabling it.

Alternatives for new community listings​

For new community workflows, use a post or a dedicated page instead of Market. A post can collect discussion and reactions; a page can hold more permanent information. See Create a post and Create and configure a page.
