Add images, files, video, and audio to a post
Posts can combine text, images, downloadable files, and a link preview. Supported video and audio links can play directly in the post when no image takes their place.
Add images
- Open the post composer and select the image button.
- Choose one or more JPEG, PNG, or GIF images. You can add further selections and remove individual images before publishing.
- Select Post.
One image appears directly in the post. Multiple images appear in their selection order as a gallery with navigation and pagination. Select a published image to open the full image.
coapp automatically reduces large JPEG and PNG dimensions before upload while preserving their proportions. Animated GIFs remain animated. Images are uploaded when you publish the post and are not restored from a saved draft.
Attach downloadable files
- Select the file button.
- Choose a file. Repeat this step to add more files.
- Wait for each upload to finish. You can follow its progress and remove an uploaded file before publishing.
Published files appear below the post with their name, size, and a download action. In the coapp mobile app, downloads open through the device browser.
The maximum size applies to each file and depends on the community plan:

Admins may see an upgrade option when a file exceeds the current plan limit. Other members receive an error and must select a smaller file.
Add a link preview
Paste a link or add it with the editor's link control. coapp displays one preview for the first suitable link in the post.
- External websites appear as a link card using the available page title and preview information.
- Links to events, pages, posts, and jobs in the same community can appear as rich coapp content previews.
- Email links appear as an email card.
Additional links remain clickable in the post even when they do not receive their own preview.
Embed video or audio
Paste a public HTTPS link from a supported provider. When the provider and link are available, coapp replaces the link card with an embedded player.

Spotify links can point to shows, episodes, tracks, albums, playlists, or artists. SoundCloud links can point to profiles, tracks, or playlists.
Private, removed, malformed, or unreachable provider content cannot be embedded. coapp shows that the video or audio is unavailable, while the original link remains part of the post.
Combine media in one post
A regular post can contain text, images, links, and downloadable files together. The published order is text, images or rich preview, the first remaining link or media preview, and then attachments.
Important display rules:
- If a post contains images and a video or audio link, the images use the rich-media area and the provider link appears as a compact link card instead of an embedded player.
- If images accompany a community-content link, the content preview may use a compact layout.
- A poll can retain selected images, but its published payload does not include accompanying text or link previews.
- Do not combine polls with downloadable file attachments; the poll editor does not reliably preserve them.
Add media to a page or event
To add lasting media to a page or event description, use content sections rather than a post. Page owners, event organizers, and admins can add Image Section, Video Section, or Podcast / Audio Section; admins can also add a Code Section for an external embed. Files are separate attachments.

Troubleshooting
If an image upload fails, try a smaller JPEG, PNG, or GIF and publish again. If a file is too large, use the plan limit shown above or ask an admin about available upgrades. If a media embed is unavailable, confirm that the provider link uses HTTPS and that the content is public and still available.
