Manage your community's legal information
Community admins use Legal and Compliance to maintain the information members and visitors need about the community operator, participation terms, accessibility, and purchase withdrawals. Members and visitors read the published pages; only admins edit these settings.
Open the legal settings
In the web app, select Manage in the top navigation, then Settings > Legal and Compliance. On a smaller screen, Manage is in your profile-image menu.
Expand the card for the document or setting you want to change:
| Card | What it contains | Controls in this view |
|---|---|---|
| Imprint & Privacy Policy | The community's combined imprint and privacy text | Text editor and Preview |
| Terms and Conditions | The community's participation terms | Text editor and Preview |
| Accessibility Policy | Information about accessibility and contact options | Text editor, Preview, and Enable accessibility policy |
| Purchase Cancellation Policy | Information about withdrawing from a purchase | Text editor, Preview, and Enable purchase cancellation policy |
| Purchase Withdrawal Form | The public form for submitting a purchase withdrawal request | Preview and Enable purchase withdrawal form |
Imprint & Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions are enabled by default. You do not need to activate them before editing their texts or using their legal links. Each card shows its current Active or Inactive status.
Edit and preview a legal text
- Open Manage > Settings > Legal and Compliance.
- Expand Imprint & Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Accessibility Policy, or Purchase Cancellation Policy.
- Select the text preview with the pencil icon. This opens the editor for that document.
- Enter or update your text and select Save. Select Discard to close the editor without saving your changes.
- Select Preview in the expanded card to open the published page in a new browser tab.
Save the text before checking the public preview. If saving fails, the editor retains your changes so you can try again. If a document could not be loaded, its editor is unavailable until it loads successfully.
For Accessibility Policy and Purchase Cancellation Policy, use the corresponding Enable… switch to control whether the link is offered in community navigation and the public footer. A switch saves immediately; text changes are saved separately in the editor. Turning a switch off hides the link; it does not delete the text.
Set up purchase withdrawal information and the form
The withdrawal form helps community admins meet consumer-protection requirements where offering such a form is required by law. It is not mandatory everywhere. As a community admin, check which requirements apply to your community and its offers, and whether you need to provide the form.
The cancellation policy explains the process; the withdrawal form lets a buyer send a request. Enable each separately:
- Open Manage > Settings > Legal and Compliance.
- Expand Purchase Cancellation Policy, edit and save your text, and turn on Enable purchase cancellation policy if you want to offer its link.
- Expand Purchase Withdrawal Form and turn on Enable purchase withdrawal form if you want buyers to find the form through the legal links.
- Use Preview in each card to check its public page.
- Follow Receive withdrawal emails as an admin in your own Community account. Each admin controls their own notifications. View administrators in the form card opens the community's administrator list.
Enabling the policy does not enable the form, and enabling the form does not publish a policy text. The links follow these settings rather than appearing automatically whenever payments are enabled.
Buyers verify their email address and receive a receipt confirmation. Community admins review and process the request manually. See Set up the withdrawal form for your community for the buyer's complete steps. Submitting the form is not an automatic refund or membership cancellation.
Where members and visitors find the information
In the web app, the main navigation and the Community account navigation show Imprint & Privacy Policy directly by default. Terms and Conditions is also enabled by default and appears under More. That menu also contains Accessibility Policy, Purchase Cancellation Policy, and Withdraw from contract when their respective links are enabled. These browser links open a new tab. On smaller screens, select the menu button with three horizontal lines at the top left to reach the main navigation's legal links; in your account, return to the account menu if a detail view is open.
Signed-out visitors find the enabled links in the footer of public community pages. The settings above control which links are offered.
These are your community's documents. coapp's own contractual documents are separate; see Download coapp's contractual documents.
