Create and manage event ticket types
Ticket types help communities organize different ways to attend while making capacity, prices, and cancellation expectations clear. Free tickets can confirm participation without a payment, while paid tickets can support activities that require admission revenue.
For a new event, open the event-creation form and select Offer tickets under the participation options. A new event starts with one free ticket type that you can edit.
For an existing event, open My events and open an event that you manage. Select the three-dot management button, then Edit. Ticket types appear under the participation options in Update Event Details.
For each ticket type, configure:
- Name
- Price
- VAT
- Number of Tickets
- Cancellation policy (in days)
- Terms and conditions
Add further ticket types when you need different categories or prices. At least one ticket type must remain while creating the event.
Only admins with community payments enabled can enter a paid price and VAT. Other organizers can create free tickets and see guidance to contact an admin for paid tickets.
After publishing, the event shows sold quantity against the configured limit. You can edit a ticket type or archive it to stop offering it without removing its existing purchases. Archived ticket types can be restored. Sold-out tickets cannot be selected.
There is no waitlist in the current event-ticket workflow.
