Invite and add members

Admins can bring people into a community by sharing the general registration link, sending invitations to specific email addresses, uploading a CSV list, or creating member accounts directly. Invitations are useful when you want coapp to guide each person through registration; direct creation is useful when an admin must set up the account.

Open the invitation dialog

The common path is:

  1. Select Manage > Community > Members.
  2. Select Invite above the member table.

You can also select Manage > Community > Invited members, then select Invite.

Choose an invitation method

In the invitation dialog, use one of these methods:

  • Copy the Public registration link and share it through your own communication channel. Whether a person can complete registration depends on the community's sign-up strategy.
  • Under Invite via email, enter one or more valid email addresses. Press Enter after each address.
  • Under Invite a list of emails via CSV, select Choose file. Download the provided template first so the columns have the expected format. Review the preview before sending.

Select the send action to start the invitations. For a CSV or multiple addresses, the progress view shows the result for each entry. A failed entry does not hide the results of successful invitations.

When the run is finished, select See invite list to review the invitations.

Review sent invitations

  1. Select Manage > Community > Invited members.
  2. Review the email address, status, invitation date, and sign-up date.
  3. Sort the table when you need to find older or incomplete invitations.
  4. Select Copy in the Unique invite link column to copy the personal sign-up link.

The general registration link and a unique invitation link are different. Use the unique link when following up with one invited person.

Create a member directly

  1. Select Manage > Community > Members.
  2. Select Create above the member table. The Create member form opens.
  3. Enter the person's first name, last name, email address, and salutation, then select Create.

Creating a member opens an account immediately instead of sending the person through the invitation list. Review the account afterward if you need to assign a plan or complete profile details.

To send people directly to a particular plan, including a hidden plan, open Manage > Monetization > Plans. Open the plan's three-dot menu and select Copy shareable link, then send that link to the intended person.

Treat a link to a hidden plan as private: it does not appear in the normal visible-plan list, but people with the link can open it. See Create and manage membership plans.

Create a paid member manually

Create the member account first, then open that member from Manage > Community > Members. Use Assign a plan to choose the membership plan, configure the schedule and payment collection method, review the invoice preview, and select Assign subscription. See Assign and change a member's plan for the complete workflow.

Member and admin limits

If the community has reached its member limit, coapp disables further invitations and points admins to the subscription settings. Existing invitations and members remain visible. The number of administrators has a separate plan limit.
