Manage your account details or delete your account
Your account settings are where you maintain the information used for your membership in a community. These settings are separate from the community administrator's member-management tools.
Update your details
- Open your account settings.
- Update your first name, last name, or email address in the relevant section.
- Select Save.
You can also request a password-reset email and select your preferred language from this page. A community can restrict changes to name and email details; contact its administrator if a field is unavailable.
Reset your password
- Open your account settings and find the Password section.
- Select Reset Password.
- On the password-reset page, enter the email address for your account and select Reset Password.
- Open the reset email and create a new password.
If the email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder and confirm that you used the email address registered for the community. An administrator can also send a reset email from your member account in Manage > Community > Members.
Choose your language
In your account settings, open Language, choose English or German, and save the change. This is a personal preference and does not change the language for other members.
Delete your account
Deleting an account is permanent. Before the option becomes available, you must have no active membership.
- Open your account settings.
- End or cancel any active membership first, if shown.
- In Delete User Account, select Delete User Account.
- Read the confirmation message and confirm the deletion.
If you are a community administrator, the deletion option is unavailable. Remove your administrator role first, or ask another administrator to do so. If your membership has already been cancelled but remains valid until a future date, coapp explains whether deletion will happen after that date before you confirm.
Requesting erasure from a community
For a request about data held by a particular community, contact that community's operator. They manage the community and can assess requests that may be affected by their legal retention obligations. This article is practical product guidance, not legal advice.
